The U.S. President who once would “settle the Ukraine war in one day” has little influence on Kiev and its European proxy-war allies. After the Sept. 21 call in which Trump urged Zelensky to stop striking Russian refineries because of the wild run-up in world prices for oil distillates, the Kiev Post reported this morning that dozens of Ukrainian drones targeted Russia’s Samara Oblast and its oil refineries overnight. The attack reportedly set fire to a major Rosneft oil refinery. The Samara governor, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, said industries and private homes were targeted. The industrial target in Samara was the Kuibyshev refinery, which suffered a “major fire,” according to the Post. The paper claims in its headlines, “Putin resists an energy ceasefire.”

The Daily Beast added, under a “Trump Humiliated” headline, “The Ukrainian military also claimed to have hit a Bashneft-UNP oil refinery in Bashkortostan… “ and said that each of the two refineries hit, manufactures millions of barrels of oil products annually.
