As reported in EIR at the time, two members of the OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) blew the whistle on the “official” OPCW report on the supposed chemical attack on Douma in 2018. The report claimed that their examination of the scene showed that there had been a chemical attack and that it had been carried out by the Syrian government of President Bashir al-Assad. This was refuted by two members of the OPCW team, Dr. Brendan Whelan and Ian Henderson, who demonstrated that there had been no chemical attack and certainly not one executed by the government. Their written reports were ignored by the OPCW leaders, and they were driven out of the organization.

Now, the OPCW has launched a “follow-up” investigation, supposedly looking for evidence of Assad’s leftover dirty work. Henderson has published a long report in Consortium News on Oct. 14 under the title “Ongoing Tales of Syrian Chemical Weapons,” which reviews the story of the scam, which was a primary piece of the so-called “evidence” used to justify the war on Syria and the Assad regime, putting in place al-Qaeda leaders to run the country.

He reports that the OPCW sent the new team “aimed at ‘finding’ alleged missing, un-declared chemical weapons.” Unfortunately for the scammers in the OPCW, they came up with nothing substantive. They reported their findings to a UN committee, but, Henderson writes: “the new OPCW mission came up… empty.”

Henderson’s conclusion:

“There are three partners in this latest endeavour on the anti-Assad chemical narrative.
