Amidst all the talk of diplomacy or war between the US and Iran, the reality is that the war has never actually stopped, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz and the Arabian Sea. It remains dangerous for commercial vessels to pass through the strait, even under American escort, and the US naval blockade of Iran is still in place.
Al Jazeera, citing Iranian media, reported this morning that an “enemy” drone attacked two fishing boats off Qeshm Island. Fars news agency said that initial reports indicated that two fishermen were reported injured and two more missing, but they were later found and rescued.
The IRGC Navy reported four vessels on fire in the Strait of Hormuz over several hours yesterday, the targeting of a US Navy sea surface drone—which CENTCOM denied—and the capture of two US MQM-170 reconnaissance drones.
