Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a series of directives to the Iranian military following a meeting with the chiefs of the military branches. “During the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized that intelligent combat readiness for a powerful confrontation with enemies is a fundamental prerequisite for achieving maximum deterrence. He decreed that any level or type of threat must be met with an immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response,” reported IRNA (emphasis added).
“Imam Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei stated that should Iran’s enemies resume military or terrorist attacks, it will be the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation that will determine when and under what conditions those attacks will end,” IRNA continued. “The Commander-in-Chief further underscored the need to strengthen military intelligence architecture, deepen indigenous defense capabilities in both ‘doctrine’ and ‘tactics,’ and enhance modernized defense and security capacities through the utilization of emerging technologies.”
Khamenei “ordered the comprehensive updating of the military target database to ensure that all physical and non-physical assets of the US-Zionist enemy are brought within the reach of the Armed Forces.”
Afterwards, spokesman for the Iranian Army Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia warned that any new US military adventurism in the region would widen the scope of war, stressing that Iran’s Armed Forces are continuously upgrading their combat readiness. “Given the US president’s notorious record of betraying diplomacy, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, without trusting or paying attention to the enemy’s actions, is relentlessly working to enhance its combat readiness,” he wrote on X. “We are carefully monitoring US movements in the region,” the spokesman added.
“If the US president once again embarks on another adventure in the region through threats and inducements offered by the Zionists, the flames of war will undoubtedly engulf a wider geographical area, and its end will not be in his hands,” he warned.
