Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), as reported by TASS, said that, while checking U.S. intelligence regarding a potential terror attack on Moscow, they detained a teenager who had posted on TikTok suggesting that he would attack the Tsaritsyno Museum. Yesterday, the museum had been cleared out, as a precaution.

The FSB released a video where the teenager’s admissions are not untypical of similar incidents in the U.S. He said: “On my TikTok page, I posted various content promoting Nazism, fascism, and violence against migrants and people of other ethnicities.” The teenager had also posted photos of himself wearing tactical clothing, a balaclava, a cap, sunglasses, and headphones holding an object resembling an automatic weapon. Other photos were taken at the Tsaritsyno Museum with the caption: “I found a place.”

At his place of residence, FSB officers seized clothes and accessories matching what he wore in the photos. He had a subscription to a neo-Nazi Telegram channel on his phone, along with a significant number of search queries regarding past terrorist acts and mass murders.

Three days earlier, in a perhaps related, perhaps coincidental matter, the FSB had just updated their own investigation into Ukraine’s exploitation of sex and teenagers in fomenting terrorist activity. It reported: “The Federal Security Service, together with the Interior Ministry and the Investigative Committee, continues to document instances of Ukrainian special services using the popular Dayvinchik/Leo match bot on Telegram to recruit Russian citizens into sabotage and terrorist activities through deception and psychological manipulation.”
