“Germany is in danger of being drawn into a violent conflict with Russia,” Martin Jäger, the head of Germany’s foreign intelligence agency (BND), told parliamentarians, according to a report in politico.eu. Jäger said this, not as a warning to slow down the Merz government’s headlong rush to war with Russia, but rather to justify and promote that lunatic policy.

“Germany has become a major obstacle to Russia’s hegemonic power projection in Europe and, as a result, a primary target of Russian actions,” Jäger stated. “Russia is determined to bring Ukraine to its knees this coming winter. We must expect Russian attacks of a severity and brutality that we have not yet seen on this scale. The war in Ukraine is entering a new and extremely dangerous phase.”

Jäger did have to admit that he currently sees “no evidence” that Russia is about to attack a NATO member country. Yet “we consider it entirely possible that Russia might carry out targeted, smaller-scale operations.”
