Full Court Press on Boris Johnson, Trump-Style

The British Labour Party has joined full-tilt with the anti-Johnson Tories and the BBC in an attack on Boris Johnson which smells very much like the Russiagate coup attempt against Donald Trump — and by some of the same players. Labour Party leader Keir Starmer took to the floor of the Parliament yesterday in a rant against Johnson for “badly underestimating the threat from Russia.” “The prime minister received that report 10 months ago. Given that the threat is described as immediate and urgent, why did the prime minister sit on that report for so long?”

This refers to the report released this week by the Parliamentary intelligence committee claiming Russian interference in the 2016 Scottish elections and the Brexit referendum, and other supposed crimes, written by proven liar Christopher Steele and the leaders of the discredited Integrity Initiative, typically devoid of any evidence. It was finished last October, but Johnson held back its release until after the election, saying he didn’t want to interfere in the election as Russia is charged with doing.

In fact, as Johnson pointed out in response: “There is nothing in this report, no smoking gun, after all that smoke and fury” over the past year. The report admits in essentially every one of its charges that there is no hard proof.
