Aug. 24 (EIRNS ) — India now is reporting more new cases daily than any other nation, and the pandemic’s grip on developing countries is worsening. The nations with the most total cases now are the United States, India, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, and Mexico, in that order; those where the most people have died of COVID-19, if those tabulations are accurate, are the United States, Brazil, India, Mexico, and the U.K., in that order. By region, the largest number of cases are now in Asia (over 80,000/day), followed closely by the Americas, excepting the United States (79,000/day). There are more than 23 million infections worldwide, and more than 800,000 deaths.
