France and South Korea Offer Assistance in Polish Nuclear Program

On February 2, the day on which the Polish government approved the energy strategy until 2040, French Foreign Trade Minister Franck Riester visited Poland to offer support, via the state-owned Electricite de France (EDF). France would fund two-thirds of projects while promoting EDF’s European Pressurized Reactor (EPR), which is already in operation in Taishan, China. With a capacity of more than 1,000 MW (1 GW), the gigantic reactor corresponds to what the government of Poland is looking for.
