In an op-ed in RT, American journalist Helen Buyniski excoriated former First Lady Michelle Obama’s comments to two girls’ schools in the U.K., which have been covered in a variety of British press. She previously visited the schools when she was the First Lady.
Her video address was part of a virtual tour promoting a dumbed-down version of her autobiography Becoming, for young readers on Kindle. The real question is, “becoming….what, exactly?”
Obama, whose net worth is somewhere in the range of $70 million, addressed the girls via Zoom, and spoke of the pandemic as a personal learning opportunity. Her cruelly insensitive remarks ignored the over 127,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.K., and the global misery affecting millions through a combination of disease and famine.
