Feb. 14–The density of U.S. military aviation activity spiked to unusual levels over the weekend far beyond the levels that had been seen on weekends until a week or two ago. From about 2:20 PM EST (19:20 GMT) on Sunday (Feb. 13), the following could be seen on flight tracking websites:
• A U.S. Air Force RC-135V that flew an intelligence emission over Ukraine
• At least 15 flights of C-17s flying between Fort Bragg and southeastern Poland in support of the deployment of 82nd Airborne troops.
• Two of the four B-52s that deployed to Fairford, England last week, took off in the evening and could be spotted off the coast of Portugal. One of them later landed in Spain but 19 hours later, the second bomber could be seen northbound in the same spot after having flown all the way across the Mediterranean to the Red Sea and back.
