Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, denounced the Pentagon’s decision to cancel a planned flight test of a Minuteman III ICBM. “Disappointing @SecDef decision to cancel routine unarmed reliability test of Minuteman III in the face of Russian bluster,” Inhofe wrote on Twitter. “Test is critical to ensure our nuke deterrent stays effective. Deterrence means projecting strength and resolve – not sacrificing readiness for hollow gestures.”
