In the aftermath of President Joe Biden’s announcement on June 1 that the U.S. would be sending a new package of weapons to Ukraine to include rocket launchers, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Britain would send an unspecified number of M270 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket Systems) launchers, reported The Associated Press. Ukrainian troops will be trained in the U.K. to use the equipment, he said. The British government says the decision to provide the launchers was coordinated closely with the U.S. government. The M270 uses the same box launchers as the HIMARS that the U.S. is sending, except that it is a tracked vehicle that carries two boxes whereas the HIMARS is a truck that carries only one.
