Asked for further comment on China’s Global Security Initiative Concept Paper, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin cited Foreign Minister Qin Gang as seeing the paper as an expression of “the fine traditional Chinese culture that values peace above everything else.”
“China believes in promoting peace through talks [and] emphasizes addressing both the symptoms and root causes,” he added. China supports the resumption of the JCPOA for Iran, calls for denuclearization and peaceful development of the Korean peninsula, and promotes de-escalation in Ukraine.
