Nine Years of Progress in Jing-Jin-Ji Integration, Development

The results of nine years of effort on integrating, developing, and reshaping the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region (Jing-Jin-Ji for short) are significant, the Global Times reports:

Connectivity has increased: expressway length, over 10,000 km, is 32% over the 2014 level, and rail lines, also exceeding 10,000 km, are up 38%. New transportation infrastructure has allowed for Beijing, Tianjin, and parts of Hebei to lie within a one-hour traffic circle.

The human environment has improved: PM2.5 particulate levels were 60% lower in 2022 than they had been in 2013.
