“China leads the world in happiness according to an online survey performed by Ipsos, with 91% of those surveyed in January 2023 saying that they are ‘very happy’ or ‘rather happy’ with their lives.” The percentage increase over ten years was +12%, and +8% over the past year.
Among the different categories of the survey, satisfaction with the respondent’s “country’s economic situation” and “country’s social and political situation” were below 60% for all surveyed nations besides China, India, Saudi Arabia (where only economic situation was polled) Singapore, and the U.A.E.
