Chinese Premier Li Qiang, today at the Boao Forum for Asia, held on China’s Hainan Island, posed that Asia must avoid the “chaos and conflicts” stemming from outside Asia, lest the region be lost. He offered China as an “anchor for world peace…. In this uncertain world, the certainty China offers is an anchor for world peace and development. This was the case in the past and will remain so in the future.” Li told the assembly that China will continue to “seek progress while maintaining stability, consolidate and expand the momentum of economic recovery and promote the continuous overall improvement of China’s economic performance.”
