The 20th round of the Astana talks on Syria opened in Kazakhstan’s capitalAstana, this morning and are proceeding on two tracks, resolving the war in Syria and the normalization of Syrian-Turkish relations. The deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Syria, and Iran will discuss a roadmap to improve relations between Ankara and Damascus and other issues. The second track, in addition to the four countries named, will also include Syrian opposition parties, as well as representatives of the United Nations, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq.
