Italian Leftists Want To Create an Anti-War Party

Former Italian TV anchorman Michele Santoro and a few other leftist intellectuals announced a drive to create a new party that can unite voters and non-voters against the war. The potential is there, Santoro said, to mobilize non-voters (who are the majority) as well as anti-war voters from other parties. Before creating a new party, a slate for the European Parliament elections should be formed. If we can collect 150,000 signatures, it will be a test that we have a constituency, Santoro said.
