Biden Refuses To Go to India’s Republic Day

U.S. President Joe Biden turned down Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s invitation to be chief guest at India’s Jan. 26 Republic Day celebration. This slight compelled India to postpone a “Quad” meeting it was scheduled to host during the same days, disinviting Australian and Japanese representatives.

Expert observers such as retired diplomat M.K. Bhadrakumar have reported on the shift in India’s policy toward Israel during its intolerable Gaza war, and this impacts India’s relations with the United States as well with Biden giving aid to Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians.
