In discussions with Russian media on Aug. 22, Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov announced that Moscow has plans for major retaliation against Ukraine because of its invasion of Russia in the Kursk region, TASS reported. “Kyiv should expect severe punishment. President Vladimir Putin has already made the necessary decision. I am convinced that everyone will be held accountable for the events in the Kursk region,” he said.
