Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told journalists today reported Izvestia that Russia is prepared to renew nuclear testing, but will not do so if the U.S. agrees to refrain from testing as well. In the face of increased NATO commitment to continue the war in Ukraine with a possible decision to allow Ukraine to strike deep in Russia with NATO weapons, and a reported underground nuclear test by the U.S. in the Nevada desert on May 14th, Putin has indicated that Russia is refurbishing its nuclear arsenal.
