Anastasiia Bobovnikova, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Operational Tactical Group ‘Luhansk,’ stated last night on Ukraine’s national broadcaster, as reported by Reuters’ Kyiv desk: “The situation is unstable, fighting is taking place literally at every entrance” to the city of Toretsk. “The Russians have entered the eastern outskirts of the city.” This was only a week after the fall of the heavily-fortified town of Vuhledar. It indicates, contrary to the dismissive comments of such as the neocon Institute for the Study of War that the fall of Vuhledar didn’t mean all that much, that the pace of the Russian advance has picked up.
