Ukraine’s online newspaper Strana.ua cited a source close to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office as saying that Zelenskyy would be powerless to resist if U.S. President-elect Donald Trump decides that he wants Kiev to stop fighting and pursue peace with Russia. Strana.ua reported that “there are many in the Republican Party who support war to the bitter end, and even in a harsher form than under Biden,” according to RT.com today. They conclude that Trump would have to purge the pro-war Republicans and Democrat holdovers from the U.S. State Department, or else “almost nothing will change except for minor details.” They gave as an example that Trump appointing former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would kill things.
Admittedly, Strana.news is not worried about being blacked out in Ukraine. Kiev already did that, as part of their dealings with the opposition media.
