The International Energy Agency announced that it has released a document entitled “The Path to a New Era for Nuclear Energy,” which reports that 2025 will set a new record level of nuclear electricity generation. Nuclear energy currently provides about 10% of global electricity. While most existing nuclear plants are in advanced economies, new projects are concentrated in China and Russia, with China expected to surpass the U.S. and Europe in nuclear capacity by 2030.
