Naryshkin Says, Desperate West May Unleash Global Conflict

In an interview with the Russian magazine Razvedchik on Jan. 21, Sergey Naryshkin, the head of the Russian foreign intelligence service (SVR), said that the West may try to foment a global conflict that would send shockwaves through Europe and Asia in an effort to cling to its hegemony, reported RTreported RT. Naryshkin commented that the world was moving away from Western hegemony, and that in desperation, the West might resort to desperate measures. “One of the possible medium-term scenarios is an attempt by the West to unleash a global armed conflict centering in Eurasia,” calling this scenario “a proven way for global capital to get out of the crisis.”

At the same time, Naryshkin pointed out that there are many responsible actors on the global stage “capable of resisting the Anglo-American escapades and independently resolving any problems, and preventing the planet from sliding into World War III.”
