Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov expressed concern today that the Trump Administration is approaching something of a time limit in accepting the new ambassador who has been appointed by the Russian government, speaking to TASS. “"There is no progress with the agreement. We are in a waiting mode. Time is going on. And, of course, we are not yet in the alarm zone in terms of the duration of this waiting period, but we are gradually approaching it. So we would like to hear a signal from Washington about a positive decision,” Ryabkov said.
Ryabkov emphasized that without an ambassador, a diplomatic mission does not function as effectively as it should, especially in a place like the U.S. capital. “With the onset of the new administration, I believe the U.S. side, too, would also like to bring all mechanisms of interstate communication to normal. Therefore, we urge [the U.S.] to pay due attention to this story,” he stressed.
