Numerous media reported yesterday that the Trump administration had made it clear that “a handful of senior F.B.I. employees have been told to resign in a matter of days or be fired,” as the New York Times put it. They noted this was part of “Trump administration moves to shake up the agency’s upper ranks, according to people familiar with the discussions.” Today’s Times headline betrayed the Establishment’s fear: “Trump Administration Sets Stage for Possible Mass F.B.I. Purge.”
