Trump's Pick for U.S. Ambassador to UN Backs Greater Israel

Elise Stefanik, Trump’s pick to be U.S. Ambassador to the UN, in testimony to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee yesterday promised to block American funding for what she claimed are “anti-Semitic” international organizations, echoing Israeli accusations that UN agencies like UNRWA are linked to Palestinian resistance groups, reported Middle East Eye. “Our tax dollars should not be complicit in propping up entities that are counter to American interests, anti-Semitic, or engaging in fraud, corruption or terrorism,” Stefanik declared.

Stefanik also openly endorsed Israel’s claim to the entire occupied West Bank, citing a so-called “Biblical right.” Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) pressed Stefanik on whether she still supported the extreme views of Israeli far-right ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir, who advocate full annexation. “Yes,” she replied without hesitation, confirming her alignment with Israel’s most hardline factions. “It’s going to be very difficult to achieve peace if you continue to hold the view that you just expressed,” Van Hollen reportedly said.
