The United States’ statements on Ukraine’s potential NATO membership are very practical, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said yesterday, commenting on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s recent pronouncements, reported TASS. “I think this reflects a realistic approach. You probably heard that along with the Pentagon chief’s statements, President [of the U.S. Donald] Trump said yesterday that he thinks that the whole story started after [former President Joe] Biden’s team began speculating on the topic of NATO, Ukraine’s potential admission, and so on. He expanded some on this idea. I think this reveals a practical approach,” Zakharova said.
