NASA satellite photos released in December 2024 show the success of the New Delta Project in Egypt to transform desert land into farmland. This project—one of several in different parts of the nation, aims to convert some 9,240 sq. km (3,500 sq. miles) of barren land west of the River Nile Delta, into productive cropland. It is working.

NASA posted a satellite photo from Nov. 28, 2018, contrasted to one taken Nov. 20, 2024, which dramatically shows green rectangles and circles of irrigated fields.

The various features of the infrastructure for the New Delta Project involve technologies appropriate in many parts of the greater Trans-Jordan River Basin, the Red Sea Basin, and all the nations across the region, from Palestine and Israel outward.
