Trump issued a pardon to former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose 14-year sentence he commuted during his first term, after 8 years in prison. Blagojevich, a Democrat, exposed the role of the Democratic Party in conducting vote fraud and other crimes, backed by the press. He defended Trump against the Trump-hysteria in 2020. He said that the Justice Department fraudulent prosecution and conviction of himself was entirely because he was exposing the crimes of the Democratic Party.
In his press conference after the commutation of his sentence, Blagojevich said: “I took on that corrupt Democratic machine and they brought me to ruin. They destroy you when you take on the system, when you won’t play ball. What they did to me on a local scale, to a Democratic Governor, they are doing to a Republican President—stealing a presidency. This is incredibly dangerous to our democracy and our freedoms. The American people should not stand for this. This is a critical moment in our history. The question is, do you take this lying down, accept the corrupt political establishment that dictates to the people who their leaders should be, or will the people rise up and peacefully protest, organize, get active on behalf of the President, because his cause is much larger—it goes beyond Donald Trump, it goes to ‘We, the People, ‘our right to choose our own leaders in fair elections.”
