Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky is getting increasingly desperate. In an interview with UK journalist Piers Morgan yesterday, he demanded that if NATO won’t give Ukraine membership, it should at least give him nuclear weapons. “We do it the following way: Give us back nuclear arms. Give us missile systems. Partners, help us finance the 1 million[-strong] army. Move your contingent onto the parts of our state,” he said, reported TASS.
At the same time, he claimed he is willing to engage in direct talks with Putin “if that is the only setup in which we can bring peace to the citizens of Ukraine… I will not be kind to him. I consider him an enemy,” the Ukrainian leader added. “And to be honest, I believe he considers me an enemy as well.”
He added that “at the negotiation table there must be the United States, Europe, Ukraine and Russia.”
