March 14, 2025 (EIRNS)—This morning, one of the activists involved in the massacre of the anti-Maidan activists in the May 2, 2014 burning of the Odessa House of Trade Unions, Demyan Hanul, was shot to death on the street of Odessa. The assassination came hard upon the announcement of a long-delayed finding by the European Court of Human Rights that officials in Kiev were legally responsible for the 2014 massacre.
The shooter made no attempt to hide himself from witnesses or surveillance cameras. Ukraine’s Internal Security (SBU) head Ihor Klymenko has assumed personal control of the investigation and has also deployed a National Police contingent from Kiev to Odessa.
