100,000 in Rome Against the EU War Policy

Over 100,000 people according to organizers (25,000 according to the police) took the streets of Rome on April 5 to demonstrate against the EU permanent warfare policy. Protesters reportedly chanted: “We need hospitals, not missiles.” The demonstration had been called by former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, current M5S secretary general, but delegations and individuals from other parties and associations joined, including a “dissident” delegation from the Democratic Party (PD).
