A wave of Israeli airstrikes hit Sana’a, the capital of Houthi-controlled Yemen today, knocking out the airport, power plants, and other targets. Today’s strikes came after 20 Israeli jets hit the Hodeidah port and a concrete factory near the nearby city of Bajil, yesterday, reported the Times of Israel. The Israeli strikes came in response to the Houthi missile strike on the Ben Gurion airport outside Tel Aviv on May 4.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sana’a issued a statement today, strongly condemning what it said were Israeli strikes on civilian facilities. “The Foreign Ministry called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to condemn this brazen aggression and halt the Zionist rampage in Yemen, as well as the genocidal crimes in Gaza, which undermine regional and global security and stability,” reported the Yemen News Agency, Saba. “It reaffirmed that the Zionist aggression will only strengthen Yemen’s steadfast support for Gaza and the resilient Palestinian people, using all available means until the aggression and siege imposed by the usurping Zionist entity are brought to an end.”
