Speaking to reporters at the White House on May 19, U.S. President Donald Trump disclosed that Ukrainian acting president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is “not the easiest person to deal with,” RT quoted him as saying today.
Trump spoke May 19 with Zelenskyy by phone, and then with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After those two phone calls, reporters asked Trump to share his impressions. Trump answered: “I’d rather tell you in about two weeks from now, because I can’t say yes or no…. Look, Zelenskyy is a strong guy, and he’s not the easiest person to deal with. But I think that he wants to stop [the war]…. I hope the answer is that he wants to get it solved.”
Further on during this press conference, Trump stated about the phone calls, “I tell you, big egos involved, but I think something’s going to happen. And if it doesn’t, I just back away and they’re going to have to keep going.” he said. He added, “I would say I do have a certain line, but I don’t want to say what that line is, because I think it makes the negotiation even more difficult than it is,” RT reported.
Trump posted to his Truth Social account that day that his conversation with Putin went “very well.” Thus far, though there will be ebbs and flows, Trump has kept financier oligarchical forces, based in the City of London, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt, closed off from the negotiating process.
