Following the morally reprehensible speech of State Department Lawyer Joshua Simmons in front of the International Court of Justice on April 30—the 60th day of the total ban on shipments to Gaza of food, water, medicine, and other supplies—in which Simmons argued that Israel’s security needs override its obligation to provide aid to Gaza, and that it has no duty under the Geneva Convention to cooperate with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the Russian delegate took the floor.
