Radovan Višković, Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska—one of the two entities making up the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) — has accused the British intelligence services and federal-level authorities of planning to arrest him with the aim of destabilizing R.S. institutions, Agenparl news reported. According to Višković, a special unit consisting of dozens of British forces is reportedly already in the region, with the intent of collaborating with elements of the federal Administration to make arrests at the top of the Bosnian Serb leadership. “According to the BiH Constitution, these forces cannot even cross the borders between entities,” he warned.
The warning issued by Višković comes amid rising tensions after Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić were also implicated in prosecutions by the Bosnian Prosecutor’s Office and Court. Dodik, in particular, accused the West and federal authorities of wanting to “decapitate” Republika Srpska.
