Jacques Cheminade, head of France’s Solidarity and Progress party, sent condolences to the family of Eric Denécé, former analyst officer of the National Navy and then the General Secretariat of Defense and National Security (SGDN). After leaving government service he was with Matra Défense, NAVFCO—before co-founding the economic intelligence firm Argos, then joining the GEOS group. He later founded the Centre Français de Recherche sur le Renseignement (CF2R). Denécé had participated in several Schiller Institute conferences. A resolute but calm opponent to the Anglo-American imperial intelligence services and their deployments worldwide, his death has been called a “suicide,” but his family is questioning it.
Cheminade’s message reads:
“A few hours ago, I would never have believed that I would be expressing on this email my sadness at the death of this man of honor and courage, with whom I shared a commitment to the principles of our country and our Republic.
