Trump and Xi Speak on Trade, Extend Mutual Invitations for State Visits

Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping spoke on June 5.

Trump announced the call in a morning post on Truth Social:

“I just concluded a very good phone call with President Xi, of China, discussing some of the intricacies of our recently made, and agreed to, Trade Deal. The call lasted approximately one and a half hours, and resulted in a very positive conclusion for both Countries,” he said.

Trump announced that there will be a follow-up meeting on trade, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and the U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
