Hundreds of Thousands Demonstrate in ‘Stop the Genocide’ Rallies in Europe

Hundreds of thousands demonstrated June 14 in “Stop the Genocide” rallies across Europe. As many as 150,000 people participated in the march in The Hague, according to organizers, while 110,000 demonstrated in Brussels, calling for action from the European Union.

The demos were organized by Amnesty International and Oxfam and other NGOs with the aim to draw a so-called “red line” on the issue.

In Brussels demonstrators marched towards the International Court of Justice and in The Hague protesters waved banners reading “Don’t look away, do something,” “Stop Dutch complicity,” and “Be silent when kids sleep, not when they die.”

On June 14, unionists demonstrated in Paris to “put pressure on European authorities to impose sanctions against Israel” and to end the “massacre” in Gaza.

Also on June 14 in Berlin some 3,000 demonstrated at the site of the 17th Street after they were denied permission to demonstrate in front of the American Embassy.
