Vanessa Beeley, journalist and Southwest Asia expert, began her comments in an interview with The LaRouche Organization President Diane Sare by discussing a U.S. policy document published in 2009 and updated in 2016 by the liberal fascist establishment’s Brookings Institution, called “Which Path to Persia? Options for a New American Strategy Toward Iran”. The 170-page document lays out four “suggested” strategies for dealing with Iran which will feel eerily familiar to those who have witnessed U.S. Iran policy since that time.
Under the headline, “Tempting Tehran: The Engagement Option,” the report suggests that the U.S. engage with Iran to negotiate a deal to resolve the conflict over its nuclear program, then unilaterally abandon the plan and blame the failure on Iran.
Another chapter called “Leave It to Bibi: Allowing or Encouraging an Israeli Military Strike” details a plan to let Israel trigger a war with more or maybe less clear American approval, something that would be more quickly and more easily done than to convince the U.S. to begin an attack itself, a conflict that the U.S. would then “reluctantly” enter.
Other “options” include creating unrest from within Iran and supporting a popular uprising and/or Iranian opposition groups.
