The following is an edited transcript of remarks by Hanspeter Widrig, as translated from the German, to the March 2, 2026 EIR Emergency Online Forum, “Epstein and the Bottomless Depravity of the ‘Elites’—Urgent Need for a Cultural Renaissance!” Mr. Widrig is a sculptor. Good evening. I’m Hanspeter Widrig, and I’m living close to Nuremberg. I’m originally from Nuremberg, and for 50 years, I have lived as a sculptor close to Nuremberg.

I know the political development and military development, for example, in Switzerland. And I know the history of Germany and also the Western world. And I, of course, as an artist, am at the edge of society. So, all the problems that are in society, I’m concerned with them…

We are living in a world of the paradoxical, of confused targets. Our work, as Einstein said, is the work of idiots. And many people know that it has no sense. People are being blinded, they don’t know anymore what the goals are. So many people have talked about and written about culture, but done so little about it. Culture today is a lie. I try today to let culture live in me so that I can help to develop society, to create islands, and so that people can find their own creativity. I’m against the increasing turning of people into stone. I’m against the dehumanization. People don’t need to think about disharmonies; that’s normal. It’s a part of the laws that are being fulfilled or not.

All these problems that we have today, come from stubborn people who do not want to be challenged. I would recommend that people read first, in the New Testament, the first letter of Paul to the Thessalonians, Chapter 5. All the wars that have been fought since then did not have a plan for how things should continue after the war. And this is happening now again, that the realities are not being taken into account. And this is all man-made.

But when I try to picture that as an artist, people don’t want to show my art. So, that’s not good for society. And all those questions that we have here right now cannot be solved like this.
