Call to Suspend EU-Israel Association Agreement Expected at EU Foreign Ministers' April 21 Meeting

It is expected that Spain will raise the demand to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement at the April 21 meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg. XX announced this over the weekend. Momentum has been added to this demand following the widespread circulation of the photo of an IDF soldier attempting to knock Jesus’ head off of a statue of the crucifixion in southern Lebanon. Polish Foreign Minister XX also called for the suspension of the EU-Isreal deal.

The EU-Israel Association Agreement, which went into effect in 2000, is a framework for trade support, political dialogue, and science collaboration. Over 30% of Israel’s exports go to the EU.
