Speaking at the 56th World Trade Centers Association Global Business Forum in Philadelphia on April 20th, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng called on the U.S. to put aside the baseless suspicion and malicious smear campaigns and unleash the enormous potential of bilateral cooperation between the U.S. and China.
He noted the importance of 2025 with the start in China of the 15th Five-year Plan. He took some time to explain the nature of the plan, noting, in particular, the key elements, calling it people-centered, innovation-driven, focusing on a green transition from a fossil-fuel economy and its opening up many new fields for foreign investors. He pointed to the opportunities for them in this plan, with China providing a large market, an innovation eco-system able quickly to bring new discoveries into the production process, and providing a platform for “clean energy fields,” as well as a first-class business environment.
