The Friday evening half-hour news program on Pakistan TV (PTV), an English- language state-owned television network, featured an extensive interview with Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in which she was asked for her analysis of the prospects for a negotiated solution to the U.S. and Israeli war against Iran. This occurred as all eyes around the world are on Islamabad, where Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived on Friday night for discussions with Pakistani government officials—but no confirmation of any actual talks with U.S. negotiators.

After a quick news roundup, PTV host Naila Shujra began by addressing Zepp-LaRouche: “We are joined by geopolitical expert Helga Zepp-LaRouche… How are you viewing the extension of a ceasefire? As a positive step towards creating space for meaningful diplomatic progress in the United States-Iran talks?”

Zepp-LaRouche responded: “Well, obviously, the question is, is this ceasefire for real?... I think Pakistan is nevertheless acting as a very responsible player because, you know, if you have a collapse of diplomacy, then the whole world order is in shambles, and if this war continues any longer, the whole world is in danger of plunging into a depression. So I think what Pakistan is attempting to do is very laudable, but I think the question of the trustworthiness of the United States in this is a big question mark.”
