China and Russia Sign MOU on Fission-Fusion Cooperation

Rosatom’s CEO, Alexei Likachev, and the Director-General of China’s Atomic Energy Authority, Shan Zhongde, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on enhanced cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. The document provides for the establishment and strengthening of interactions on human resources, the exchange of experience and best practices for training personnel for the nuclear industry, as well as cooperation between the youth and women’s industry communities of the two countries.

A memo signed with China’s Science and Technology Minister, Yin Hejun, envisioned cooperation in the field of controlled nuclear fusion. Both countries participate in the international ITER program in France, but each have their own separate programs, where cooperation already occurs.
