FSB Chief Warns of Increased Use of Terrorism by Ukraine, Calls for Collaboration with the U.S.

Alexander Bortnikov, the head of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) gave a presentation on May 27 on the danger of increased terrorism as a part of the new phase in the Ukraine war. Bortnikov was speaking at a meeting of CIS intelligence chiefs at the Moscow International Security Forum.

Bortnikov said that attempts to smuggle over 500 explosive devices into Russia have been thwarted. In addition, he said, the West has turned Ukraine into a testing ground for new weapons and new forms of warfare, including establishing secret laboratories around the world where they develop chemical and biological weapons. He said that such centers also exist in the CIS countries.
