Putin on Europe's Liars, and the Intelligent People

Russian President Vladimir Putin was interviewed by Pavel Zarubin of Rossiya-1 state TV.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was asked in his interview with Pavel Zarubin of Rossiya-1 state TV, transmitted on Sunday, May 10, if the West is “going too far” with the Ukrainian military’s long-distance drone strikes into Russia. “The West has admitted that the Kiev regime would not have survived several days without its support,” Zarubin noted. Putin’s answer was not short, and it includes a zinger on the role of France’s Macron in the London-led project.

Putin began with a question: “What exactly is the West? I believe that it is the so-called globalist part of the Western elites. It is they who are fighting against us by proxy of Ukraine. Of course, they set themselves up pretty well in this respect, having provoked this conflict. I have already spoken about how it started. I have not invented anything about the initial reference point. Strange as it may seem, this was the question of whether or not Ukraine would join the EU. God bless them, they could have joined, but it led to a military conflict. Why? Because they thumbed their nose at Russia’s interests.

“Moreover, seeking to use Ukraine as an instrument for attaining their geopolitical goals, these people in the West deceived everyone, as they now openly admit…. They started to lie about the non-expansion of NATO to the east at the beginning of the 1990s. They told us that NATO would not move a single step eastward. Well, where are they now?

“Taken together, all this has provoked the current situation. They are fighting against us, which has become clear to everyone, by proxy of Ukraine.
